Hi.
At my 'ripe old age', I'm about to build my first layout.
It will be of a location in the UK, in OO scale.
It will be set in 1960-1970's as I don't want to do the Steam thing and I am collecting "Green" diesels.
The plan is an imaginary location "somewhere up the East Coast Mainline" that I am calling Linstead. It will be a 'through station' with goods yard.
I have the use of our barn, so the baseboards are up in a circle round the edges and I can get a circle of 27m. I am working on the boards in sections as it is too great a space to try to do everything at once.
If anyone wants to visit, you are welcome, as any advice would be good.
All the best,
Tonyk

Hi Tony,
Hope the layout is progressing. I would love to visit but I am about one and a half hours away, bit for to just drop in.
I like the idea of having 27 meters at your disposal, lots of main line running.
I am also east coast, although I do steam era, also imaginary, and I cross over to LMS to allow for mixing regions. You will find some details of my sections and track plan in the layout section on this site.
Keep us posted when you have some pictures, etc. All the best John
