Hello all - New on this forum but not to France having been here on and off for nearly 10 years. Finally getting around to almost, nearly, well not quite, finishing what will be my railway room, certainly close enough to start planning the new layout. It will be set in South London around the early 70's, as this is where I grew up and I like the rundown grotty era that I recall and now with all these nice shiny EMU's available I just cant resist.
I also have an half baked idea of a garden railway, probably O gauge and a bit freelance but probably French in style. Where I live (24500), overlooking the Dropt valley, there was a line that ran from Eymet via Issigeac to Bergerac and the other way to Marmande via Miramont, so it will be loosely based on this but I have got no further that this vague idea.
I shall be sorting through the accumulated boxes and having a sort out in the coming weeks as I see what I have for "Broadchurch Street" which is the working title for the South London project, think Broad Street meets Fenchurch Street and will be disposing of all unwanted items so keep an eye out for my posts. I do have a few N gauge scenic items to whom ever wants them for just the cost of the postage. They are, all Peco, 4 single stone tunnel portals, 2 sets of wing wall for same and 5 lengths of concrete platform faces. Message me if you are interested. I am on the lookout for recent class 33,71 and 31 locos if anyone has any to move on and any EMU's, again of the recent sort (Hornby 4VEP etc.)
I'd be interested in meeting anyone in the area for a chat and a pint (or metric equivalent!)
