The heat wave has caused problems with my swing-bridge. The rails moved some 3mm out of alignment. Two day's work to re-mount the rail ends soldered to PCB copper-clad fibreglass strip then Araldited to brackets welded to the bridge structure, with the locks fixed to the same brackets. Hopefully everything will now move together. Even so, a 15 mph temporary speed restriction is in place !

Hi Tony,
I had crossed my mind that outdoor railway builders might be having problems, but you seem to have solved this one. Incidentally, I am using the same technique to align the track on my eight sections during the current re-build. Did you take any photos?
The heat is keeping me out of the garden where most of the larger construction has to be done due to lack of space in the railway shed, so it has been a time for planning, reading, making buildings, etc. I should have some pictures of progress ready soon which I will post.
All the best John

Photos of the modified bridge, open and closed/locked. The locking lever is in the cabin. The Closed photo shows the micro-switch which cuts off traction power and illuminates a red signal when the bridge is open. Attachments:
