Hi I have just come across a poster advertising Steam Specials running this summer from June to August. The trains are doing quite a few runs through the area over the summer months, details are on www.trainvapeur.com and the routes are Limoges to Eymoutiers, Gueret to Montlucon via Busseau, Limoges to Thiviers and one route just called Les Gorges de la Vienne. It might just mean a trip to Limoges over the summer. I think details may also be found at Tourist Information Offices around the Haute Vienne.

Hi Dieter,
I like this one, and have been meaning to make a trip on a steam train for a while now. If any of you guys in Dordogne decide to make the trip in the summer, remember Chabanais is en route to Limoges, and it would be good to see you all. There might even be some progress on the layout by then! Last couple of weeks and the next are taken up with house modifications, but I'm itching to get back out into the shed and start the reconstruction of the layout. Problem is I have to pass the debris from my renovation work on the way to the shed, so guilt is beginning to creep in and several trips to the decheterie are on the cards.
All the best John

Hi guys, Wow, the pictures look fab Dieter and I hope you get to enjoy the steaming this summer. It's probably a little too far for me, however, there's plans a foot to run steam between Thouars and Loudun this summer, which is right on my door step. Details can be seen on www.saumur-kiosque.com/infos_article.php?id_actu=23650 Bon courage John and get that rubbish out of the way, so you can spend more time in the shed! I'm in the UK for a few days tomorrow and the bride has even suggested I visit a model railway shop and get a few things. Wicked! Speak soon, Bill
