Tragic! I visited this club several times, and their work was really good. A permanent layout concentrating on Angouleme station and environs.

A very rough translation is as follows, for those with not a lot of French:
"17th January 2015
A fire of accidental origin started this Sunday morning toward 11 hours in the local of the club of railway model building of Angoulême, to the 176 Avenue Jules Ferry, just in front of the school of the same name.
The disaster seems to be the fruit of an electric dysfunction. Alerted by a resident panicked by the abundant smokes that escaped from the places, the firemen, who were again there to 12 hs 30 with the police, raised two homes, in the corners of the building, a former municipal washer put to disposition of the association since 35 years by the City.
Fire caused the destruction of practically everything that was between the walls of this local frequented every Saturday afternoon by about fifteen of passionate and open, from time to time, to the general public.
Especially, the fire reduced to nothing ten years of work: the members of the club had manufactured there an immense railway circuit, henceforth nearly completely destroyed.
The future of the association risks to find itself/themselves compromise of it.
More of infos in CL of Monday."
