Wow! 100th member! (Didn't plan it, really!) Thankyou.
We moved into our house two months ago, owned it for years but various financial problems kept us from getting it habitable to move in to. Now it is (just), and here we are. There is a large attic, with real stairs, no ladders here, so one end of it will be railway. I have had no space for many years so I am starting with a small N-gauge layout that I've been planning for a while now, set in Germany but it's basically freelance. When I can actually make some progress in between working on the house and garden, I'll post something about it.
I am interested in just about anything railway or tramway (or any public transport system), real or model. I have lived in Australia and the UK, so that is where I know most about.

Thanks for the update and the quick reply. One of members also models the German scene, in HO, and his layout is developing well. Good luck with adjusting to full time life in France, maybe the forum can help direct you to local materials and resources. If you have any specific requirements, just find the appropriate "board" (under the white Anglo French Railway Modellers tab above - just have over it to extend the choice options).
If you wish, I can create a new topic in "Member's Layouts" for your own specific reporting on layout progress Call it something like "Eric in N gauge: New Beginnings" - it is not mandatory, but it help members home in on points of interest in the efforts of other members. Just reply and let me know if you would like me to do this.
Incidentally, I have some magazines I do not need that look at continental (in some cases, German modelling). Free to collect (if possible) - whereabouts are you, by the way?
All the best John

Bonjour Eric and welcome from the sunny Loire valley. Hope it's not too wet in Brittany!
Good luck with getting your railway room ready and the subsequent layout. I'm just about to put in the mezzanine floor and staircase to mine, then insulate and get some electrics run in, so perhaps by the spring, I'll finally get to building the base boards! It's all good fun.
Speak soon, all the best,
Bill
