The last two pictures for the present Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedThe line is o-gauge fine scale, using Peco track, 12v dc. A ficticious joint LMS (MR) - LNER venture in industrial Yorkshire in the late 30s. The swing bridge is an all-welded structure, which would have been an innovation in the 30s.

Most of the locos and stock are from e-bay, but the LMS Black 5 and Jubilee were scratch-built by fellow Forum member "Warwick"

Hi Tony,
Love the layout, it looks as though you have put a lot of work into it - the bridge is something else!! And well done Warwick, I would really like to see some pictures of your work on O gauge finescale locos, I am building a OO Garratt at the moment, and struggling. Do you have any problems running in the extremes of weather we experience here? Track cleaning must be a bit of a chore.
I look forward to seeing more images from your layout. Is part of the layout in a shed or outbuilding? How long have you been working on it?
All the best John

Started in July last year. The terminus is in the cave under a barn - the biggest job before starting the railway was waterproofing the cave. It has stood up well to the winter - some track buckled in the heat last summer due to inadequate rail gap. All the track needed cleaning this spring, but I hpe to make a track-cleaning machine for next year.
Cheers for now
Tony

Good luck with the track cleaner - how much track is there? Do you normally scratch build this kind of thing?
I empathize with you about waterproofing the cave, I have spent a few weeks waterproofing my garden shed, after having a new tiles roof fitted, still some work to do on the exterior walls, but it is a nice place to work.
All the best John
