On the 20th of July I have offered to open my garden, (yard), to the local dog charity called Twilight. They care for homeless dogs, those that are aged and ones that are lame or blind. It's basically a hospice, somewhere for the poor old muts to spend out what's left of their life in comfort. We plan to have an open day with all the usual bric-a-brac stalls. Basically a small Vide Greniere with refreshments. The main purpose being to raise funds. I have a small Gauge One garden layout. It's a thirty-five metre continuous loop that I built just as a test track and have been asked to run a train or two during the day. I will also have a stall selling old tools and any other junk that I want to get rid of, but I shall also be promoting the joy of model railways by showing off some of my locos and rolling stock etc. So, I wondered if any of you out there would be interested in using this opportunity to advertise the Forum maybe with a stall next to mine as I'm sure you would conjure up a lot of interest especially in the smaller scales. I am based in Mavaleix (24800), a tiny hamlet clinging to the sides of the main RN 21, just 3 Kms south of La Coquille. Anyone interested can reach me on 0676 432 925 or via the Forum. Regards Ray Norris ( Scrapman )

Hi guys,
this is an oportunity to get behind scrapman and support him in his drive to raise funds for the old mutts. It's also an ideal oportunity for us to get together and meet other members of the forum. I will be there on the day and so will reichsbahn24 (proving he gets his pass!!). Any more takers?
Don't forget that scrapman will be operating his garden layout, all 35 metres of it which he modestly calls "small" but that's bigger than my house!!
It would also be a good oportunity for anyone who has items they no longer need, to bring along and donate them to scrapman for his fundraising drive.
I hope to see as many members there as possible, I know I'm looking forward to it as I've never seen a garden layout before apart from on the telly and Youtube
Best regards
Berty

Hi all, I have visitors who will arrive the day before the event and may be unwilling to hit the road again so soon but I will do my best to persuade them to come along. I hope to see some of the members there. Please start posting to save the forum, it can't work without you, Brian

Good evening all, Thanks to Ray for a good afternoon all in aid of Twilight. It was a little disappointing not to see more forum members but the weather did not look very good but turned out very nice. Ray's garden railway is fascinating being mostly made from scrap collected from the local scrapyard- ingenious! If this event occurs next year I would strongly advise a visit. Keep building Ray, Brian
