Hi everyone, the following may be of interest, Steeve's intro thread can be found in the Welcome Lounge, from Steeve:-----------------

Hornby (+Lima/Joueff/(euro)Riv and the other bits like Airfix, Humbrol, Scalex) now agreed should you need anything from those ranges (but judging by frequency of posts here I'll not hold my breath).
Wishing you all a good Christmas."

I have just assembled my first Hornby order for the year. Anyone with model railway needs of Hornby or their other brands are welcome to piggy-back in the cause of shared postage. Regards, Steeve@monsieurvapeur.fr

All very quiet here... As the most recent (and possibly last?) user of this board I will mention that the monsieurvapeur(.fr) site is slowly taking shape. By no means a polished website the general structure of the Hornby, Rivarrosi, Jouef, Lima and Humbrol sections are in place with Arnold, Electroten, Airfix, Scalextric to follow and then the MTH and Accucraft sections to be linked in. If anyone feels like having a alpha-test on it I would be interested to know how easy or otherwise it was to navigate, and whether you think that my attempt at dual column french and english works. Even though some "buy now" buttons may be showing for the time being PLEASE DO NOT attempt to purchase as the shopping cart checkout will be the last thing to be added.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the update. I'm afraid I was unable to reach the site using (monsieurvapeur(.fr)) Am I being thick? I would be happy to do an alpha-test.
All the best John

Arnold framework now on. Any suggestions for photos to have on the home page? Current image is a g1 MTH Hudson, what is needed is something that shouts Hornby products to potential french customers and all I can think of is individual images of a sample Hornby loco, the Jouef 241p, something Riv or Lima, ditto Arnold, Ditto Scalex, ditto Airfix. Hardly imaginative.

Electroten is now on and the home page tidied up slightly. For the most part pricing is on though I am having great trouble working out how to implement a fair postage regime. Just in case my computer browser was giving false leads by cacheing local pages I have found the site using my tv so it looks like the pages did upload.

Just another boring and possibly unwanted post to say that the site now has a cart attached and the domain name does get a google hit due to a link from one of my older sites. It remains to be seen if gets any hornby/jouef etcetera traffic under its own steam if / when google indexes it.

Just to inform any ghosts that might still inhabit the forum, I have updated the Hornby info and split the item categories in to "current + preorder" and "sold out" pages.

For the remaining ghost I have bought in some building design files and scale them up or down, G1 to N. If there is reasonable interest I can pay for the production permit. Some of these designs have now been put on the MV site. www.monsieurvapeur.com/3dprint/3dprint.htm

Just in case any of you bookmarked individual pages of the monsieurvapeur website please note that I have split the site as a contact confirmed that mixing languages on the same page may make the search engines deem them as "unintelligble" and thus of low relevance. monsieurvapeur.com defaults to english monsieurvapeur.fr defaults to an attempt at french or at least that is the intention. Please do feel free to link to either, mention in fb or whatever.

Just a small note to say that the Hornby 2020 product list is now out. Sadly no euro dealer price list from them as yet (surely something they could have prepared?) but I am working at getting the images loaded. The 100 years of Hornby is definately a theme with "retro" packaging, some having what I consider to be tight limited runs. I do like the look of the freshly tooled Rocket and HST and the pre-production Hush-hush bodies. Quite a few other items.
